If you haven't read my journal, this is part of my 'daily updates', inspired by =Shavera
i will be uploading a daily sketch, doodle or artwork too my account every day, mainly to see my own progress and to push myself to work on something artistic every day. These updates may not be good, finished, and may or may not ever be finished.
They will mostly be concepts and idea sketches for MY OCS100 or just an illustration for FIREBRAND. Will probably do some much needed character sketches and drawings from my other stories, but firebrand is my main obsession right now. ^_^
oh, and if you've read my writing journal, some of the storyline tidbits you see here may not match up... Tehre is a whole section of writing that i intend to revise. So i HOPE what ever i do for this project will be more accurate.

After a rebellion gone terribly wrong, Nariko was cast out of the royal house for treason. She alone among those involved is spared the sentence of execution. As one of Blagden's rare children, she is too valuable, and as his favorite, too close to him to destroy. But that is as far as his mercy goes.
As her mother and other companions in the attempted rebellion are lead to await their execution, he calls for his elder daughter, Etain. Though sisters, their is little love between Etain and Nariko. Etain is given the duty of punishing her younger sister, and does so with savage delight.
Nariko is lashed and beaten, then taken below to the slaves quarters where she is left at the mercy of people who have little love for their lord and his daughters.

yeah, i know... i'm never nice to poor nariko.
Not sure what all i'll do with this piece... but don't worry. The story isn't all bad. Our hero Jaymon takes pity on her. And he's a healer, so she comes out of it pretty well.
tomorrow i will probably post the next sketch i'm working on in this sequence... "tending to nariko"
there's a little bit of story that will go along with it...
and then after that, perhaps i'll post 'the execution' unless i decide to do soem inbetween sketches.

If you're not engaging in the creative process for yourself, then just give up. Drawing or writing to gain pagehits and attention is no basis for creativity. Be an artist, not an attenion slut.
this is all stuff from before the comic. Spoilers, really. But I don't care... I just want to get this stuff written down... get her story more solidified... and indulge in my favorite form of escapism. ^_^
You really do like it, huh? I've long since given up on trying to make a comic/story for an audience... so i really dont' know how much sense it all makes from the outside. I have been working on the next chapters of the comic, but i dont know if it will make it to actual comic form... maybe illustrated book?
